Description: Direct staff teach and support individuals in the process of learning the skills needed to achieve their Individual Service Plan goals. This person will be responsible for the support and supervision of the participant(s) in their daily activities such as school attendance, job coaching, community integration, and volunteering. Direct Support Professionals work with multiple individual cases, covering support hours designated for these types of skill development; mobility training, cooking, community integration, etc. Direct Support Professionals may also provide supervision for more behaviorally challenged individuals where more experienced and skilled support is needed to prevent incidents that could lead to harm to the individual or others. Direct Support Professionals report to the Case Manager.

Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent, some college or current enrollment in Social Work program preferred. Education may be substituted with professional experience with people with disabilities.

Position Available:

My Life Foundation is looking to fill a director position for our community-based day program, My Day. The job duties for the position will include:
 
·       Overseeing all aspects of the day program 
·       Identifying and implementing areas of training for support staff
·       Coordinating and conducting assessments for referrals 
·       Coordinating the development of community resources and networking with organizations in the community                whose services would benefit those served by the program
·       Writing Individual Service Plans (ISPs), Special Incident Reports (SIRs), behavioral plans, etc.
·       Supervising a team of 15-20 employees 
·       Approving and processing timecards
·       Staff scheduling and providing coverage for callouts and vacations 
 
The hours for the position are Monday-Friday, 8:00 am – 4:00 pm.
